Carla Spindt (Co-Director) is a director, drama instructor and professional actress. She directs Shakespeare, farce and contemporary works throughout Yolo, Solano, Napa, Marin and Sonoma counties. She has performed with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, the Alley Theatre in Houston, American Conservatory Theatre, San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, Magic Theatre in San Francisco; TheatreWorks in Palo Alto; Aurora Theatre in Berkeley; Marin Theatre Company and numerous other professional theatre companies. She loves to laugh. Lu Kenmonth (Co-Director, Lights and Sound Technician) is an elementary school teacher who has produced and directed four children’s musical theater productions including Disney’s Aladdin and Annie. Obviously, when we look for plays to produce, we concentrate on those that provide good roles for women over 40. We also look for plays that will fill the air with thoughts, humor and sincerity. Most importantly, we want something that is accessible and will engage all audiences. So, let’s see how Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike stacks up to our checklist. (more…)

Paul Cotten (Vanya) is honored to take part in this production with Valley Players. Paul last appeared as The Man in Christopher Durang’s Laughing Wild at the Berkeley Waterfront Playhouse in 2017. He won the Daily Republic’s 2015 Arty Award for Best Actor as Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird and the 2014 Arty for Best Supporting Actor as Dr. Chasuble in The Importance of Being Earnest. Paul has appeared as Macbeth with the Vallejo Shakespeare in the Park, “M” in Cock and Allen in God of Carnage with On the Fringe Theater. by Christopher Durang The Napa Valley Performing Arts Center at Lincoln Theater and Valley Players present Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike by Christopher Durang for three performances on February 1, 2 and 3 at 7pm at the Napa Valley Performing Arts Center at Lincoln Theater in Yountville.
