Help shape the future of theatre that reflects real lives.

Valley Players believes theatre should reflect every voice. We create bold, relevant productions that uplift communities and celebrate artists often overlooked—especially women over forty and other under-represented storytellers.

Why We’re Expanding Our Board

We are seeking new board members because the future of this company depends on it. Our mission is strong, our audience is growing, and the need for this kind of work is undeniable. But to continue, we need experienced fundraisers—people who know how to build relationships, open doors, and make the case for support.

If you have a background in fundraising—whether through individual giving, major donors, grants, sponsorships, or benefit events—we urge you to consider joining us.

What We’re Looking For

We don’t have a rigid checklist—but we do know what would make a real difference right now.
We’re especially looking for people who:

  • Have experience in fundraising, development, or donor relations
  • Believe in the power of theatre to reflect real lives and shift narratives
  • Are willing to attend regular board meetings (currently once a month)
  • Can commit to actively supporting the financial growth of the organization

If you bring other strengths—like marketing, legal knowledge, finance, or nonprofit governance—we’d love to hear about that, too. More than anything, we’re looking for people who care and are ready to contribute.

What You’ll Gain

  • A meaningful role in advancing equity and visibility in the arts
  • The chance to shape the vision and direction of a unique theatre company
  • A community of dedicated, creative, and compassionate people

How to Get Involved

If you’re interested, let’s talk. Send a brief note to Daryl Roberts [daryl@valley-players.com] introducing yourself and your experience. We’ll set up a time to talk about where the company is headed, what we’re hoping to build, and how you might play a role.

This isn’t a formal interview—we’re looking for the right fit, not perfect résumés. If you’re intrigued by the mission and have skills to offer, we’d be glad to hear from you.

A Few Words from Patrons and Participants

Thank you — thank you for your devotion to theatre arts. —Linda Doshier, patron

To be surrounded by fellow artists and peers who are committed to bringing a vision, a story to life onstage is a singularly unparalleled experience. It takes all types to make a production come to life, and I am so unbelievably honored to be one of them… —Esmé Nicolson-Singh, actor
