2025 Staged Reading Series Press Release – May 20, 2025
Valley Players Launches 2025 Summer Staged Reading Series June 1
New Voices, Local Talent, and Fresh Plays Take Center Stage in Napa
NAPA, CA — Valley Players is proud to announce the return of its Summer Staged Reading Series, opening Sunday, June 1 at 4:00 PM at the American Legion Hall #113. Featuring twelve original plays presented over seven Sunday afternoons, this year’s series celebrates the power of new work and community-driven theatre.
The Series is guided by a threefold mission:
- To support playwrights in developing their work through performance and audience feedback
- To introduce local audiences to bold, contemporary plays from across the country
- To engage more local actors, directors, and creatives than a single production ever could
“We’re not just presenting new plays,” says the Valley Players team. “We’re creating a collaborative space where writers grow, audiences discover, and talent from across Napa County comes together to tell fresh stories.”
The series opens with Resident Poet by Cassandra Powers, directed by Richard Pallaziol, on June 1—followed by six more readings of original plays every other Sunday through August 24, each showcasing different writers and creative teams.
Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. A $60 Summer Series Pass offers flexible admission to any seven performances—ideal for theatre lovers or groups.
