Valley Players Present “Ripcord” by David Lindsay-Abaire at Yountville Community Center

Show Opens October 11th

Yountville, CA – Valley Players is thrilled to announce the opening of Ripcord, a comedy by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire, running October 11–27, 2024, at the Yountville Community Center.

Directed by Valley Players’ Artistic Director, June Alane Reif, Ripcord stars local favorites Patte Quinn and Nancy Heine in a hilarious yet touching exploration of rivalry, resilience, and the surprising connections that emerge in unlikely places. Craig Rekdahl, Luis Marks, Esmé Nicolson-Singh and Michael Hunter round out the cast of this delightful comedy.

Set in the Bristol Place Senior Living Facility, Ripcord tells the story of Abby, a sharp-tongued woman who cherishes the solitude of her sunny room. When the perpetually cheerful Marilyn becomes her new roommate, Abby hatches a plan to get rid of her—by making a bet. As the two women engage in increasingly outrageous pranks, they reveal not only their competitive spirits but also the deeper truths they’d prefer to keep hidden.

Audiences can expect an evening of laughs, wit, and unexpected heart in this crowd-pleasing production. With its sharp dialogue and physical comedy, Ripcord promises to deliver an entertaining experience for all.
