The Crew of The Old Friends

Barbara McFadden (Director) has been involved in community theater for 50 years as an actress/singer/dancer and added costume designer (40 yrs) and director (35 yrs) to her busy schedule. She is currently on the board of directors for the Creative Arts Collective at Harbor Arts Center in Suisun City. She was the artistic director for many years with Fairfield Civic Theater and has worked with Solano College, Vallejo Music Theatre, Missouri Street Theater, Benicia Olde Town Theater Group, Willows Theater, Woodland Opera House, Gaslighter’s Theatrical Co., J & S Performing Arts, Spreckles Theater Co., and Lucky Penny Productions. She recently directed The Case of the Malted Falcon (a murder mystery comedy) and Hansel & Gretel (a British Panto) Some other favorite directing projects were The Nerd, An Audition for a Murder, Lend Me a Tenor, The Music Man, Once Upon a Mattress, 1776, Camelot, and Grease as well as many others. Barbara has one daughter, Kat Ray, who lives in Seattle with her husband Ben. Kat is a performer and choreographer and has always been a source of inspiration and joy!

Sandra Lovelace (Stage Manager) is delighted to be working with Valley Players again after last year’s performance as Kate in Anton in Show Business. In Aspen, Colorado, she studied with the Los Angeles Film Actors Guild, served as properties mistress and also had her own TV show “The Snowmass Sportsman”, which she wrote and directed. Here in California, she has served as stage manager and set dresser for Dreamweavers Theatre. Sandra hopes you enjoy the show!

Paul Marciniak (Assistant Stage Manager) is a retired Calibration Engineer who is now spending time traveling and time at their mountain cabin with his wife, Marjean. Paul was a founding member of the Dreamweavers Troupe and was in many of their earlier productions. He is glad to be back in theater with Valley Players and enjoys volunteering backstage for this very talented group.

Jay Jacobson (Set Designer) is a local architect who has previously designed sets for Dreamweavers productions of Mr. Roberts, When Shakespeare’s Ladies Meet, Don’t Drink the Water, The Fifteen Minute Hamlet and was the architect for the Dreamweavers Playhouse at the River Park Shopping Center. He wrote, directed and produced the Dreamweavers production of Image of the Body and has acted with June Alane Reif and been directed by Debbie Bauman in Magic Time. Jay was directed by the late Joe Lewis in the Dreamweavers production of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Jay especially wishes to thank his lovely bride Karen Chadbourne who is a member of Valley Players’ Board of Directors.

Lu Kenmonth (Lighting Technician) is a 2nd grade teacher at an Arts integration school in Napa. Lu has produced and directed five children’s musical theater productions including Disney’s Aladdin, The Jungle Book and Annie. She was actively involved for years at Dreamweavers’ community theater in Napa, and currently is a board member for Valley Players.


Nick Kenmonth (Sound Design and Technician) has done the sound design for several Valley Players productions, Break a leg everyone!
