Non-AEA. No Pay. 4W, 2M.

Performances: Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, August 2 – 11 at the Napa Valley Performing Arts Center at Lincoln Theater.Be prepared to cold read from the script. If you are more comfortable doing a monologue, please feel free to show us what you’ve got! Auditioners are welcome to attend either or both nights, but ARE required to sign-up here.

Parking and entry for Auditions at the Lincoln Theater.

For those who haven’t been to the Lincoln theater before, take the Veteran’s Home exit off of Highway 29 in Yountville and follow California Drive to the Veteran’s Home. Turn right at the stop sign at the end of California Drive. Parking will be on your right just past the Napa Valley Museum. Please use the performers’ entrance to the left where the sidewalk meets the round-about! Use the Performers’ Entrance (see map). We’ll be waiting to give you directions from there!

SYNOPSIS

What happens when news becomes entertainment and politics become a performance? Virginia Eames, an aspiring political pundit, attempts to negotiate her way through the constantly shifting landscape of cutthroat commentary and learns what it takes to be a star.

CAST OF CHARACTERS

Virginia Eames (F) Charming, funny, pretty political pundit. Hardworking, but things have come easily for her.

Jim Lauderdale (M) Political advisor, consummate pro. A bulldog, but with a sense of sorrow at how things have turned out.

Daniel Cameron (M) Editor of a major metropolitan newspaper. Attractive, integrity personified, weary, George Plimptonesque.

Pat Morse (F) Assistant Editor of the same newspaper. Dry, witty, sharp, brittle, but always right.

Irene Shay (F) Capable, witty newscaster. Holds her own with the likes of Jim.

Suzanne Roth (F) Wife of an American journalist. Finds herself an unwilling celebrity.
